April Portland Business Feature: Thyme & Sage
/There’s something really grounding about a brand that starts with people who genuinely love gathering—cooking, hosting, and paying attention to the small details that make a table feel special.
Thyme & Sage is a Portland-based textile company creating modern home essentials like napkins, tablecloths, and kitchen towels—pieces designed to bring a little more beauty and intention into everyday life.
The brand was founded in 2019 by longtime friends and designers Carmel and David, who partnered with textile experts Hakan and Mehmet from Denizli, Turkey. Together, they blended two perspectives that work surprisingly well side by side: thoughtful, modern design and deep-rooted textile craftsmanship.
The result is a collection that feels both simple and elevated—functional enough for daily use, but beautiful enough that you notice it every time you set the table.
What stands out most is the balance. Nothing feels overly precious, but nothing feels mass-produced either. There’s a sense of care in the materials and the construction that reflects both Portland’s design sensibility and Turkey’s long history of textile work.
It’s the kind of brand that quietly makes your home feel more intentional—without asking you to completely change how you live in it.
